Causes
The exact cause of acne is unknown. Several risk factors have been identified:
Acne is caused by an interaction between hormones, skin oils, and bacteria that results in inflammation of hair follicles.
Gender division:Boys have more severe acne and develop it more often than girls.
Hormonal changes: teenagers are more likely to develop acne.Acne can flare up before menstruation, during pregnancy and menopause .
Diet: No foods cause acne, but certain foods may cause flare-ups.
Drugs Sideeffects:Acne can be a side effect of drugs including tranquilizers, antidepressants, antibiotics , oral contraceptives and anabolic steroids. any medicine containing halogens(iodide, chlorides, bromides) also leads to acne.
Excessive exposer to chlorine elements can lead to formation of back acne.
Personal Hygiene: Abrasive soaps, hard scrubbing, or picking at pimples will make them worse.
Cosmetics: Oil-based makeup and hair sprays worsen acne.
Environmental Effects:Exposure to oils and greases, polluted air, and sweating in hot weather aggravate acne.
Stress : Emotional stress may contribute to acne.
Treatment
There are many treatments and regimens available for back acne, especially for the most severe types. Hormonal acne can be treated with Antiandrogens, Corticosteroids, Oral Contraceptives and natural alternatives. There are also several topical treatments available such as Retnoids.
Clearin : a natural acne treatment for back acne that is available without a prescription and does not have any of the dangerous side effects associated with many acne medications.
Ultraviolet light therapy: Ultraviolet light has not been proven effective as an acne treatment, but it can serve the purpose to some extent.
Comedo extraction: This is one of the treatment but it should be performed under sterile condition by a dermatologist
Chemical Agents: Glycolic,Light Chemical Peels acid and other chemical agents are applied by a dermatologist to loosen blackheads and decrease acne papules.
Natural Treatments:
Drink plenty of water. This helps to cleanse the system, and results in clearer, more hydrated skin.
Relax. Try a calming exercise for when you get stressed out. Stress triggers breakouts for many individuals.
Avoid harsh cleansers or toners - these can only aggravate acne and cause further irritation and redness
