Vbeam laser and IPL treatment are used to treat acne from the surface of skin. Laser is being successfully used for active acne treatment and acne scarring on the face and back. The laser light works by specifically targeting and heating the collagen and sebaceous glands in the dermis while protecting the epidermis. It also has a cooling device that cools and protects the skin's surface. The treatment promotes the growth of new skin cells and when the treated area heals the scars are far less visible than before.

It is important to note that the laser treatment can be continued along with ongoing medical acne treatment. It is also used by patient whose acne has resolved but they still have scarring.
