Acne Scar Information- Adult Acne, Cystic acne - Solution to them

What is Acne - Pimples?

Acne is basically a skin disease typical to youth. Acne produces unsightly spots on the face, neck, chest, back and upper arms. The skin gets blotchy and these blotches on the face do never vanish. Even a beautiful face and the skin, if affected by acne, loses its charm. Acne is a deformed type of pimples. Although traditionally considered a teenage problem (8 out of 10 teenagers suffer from it!), acne can affect people even in their forties. One out of every 20 persons in the forth decade has acne.

Usually, young people pinch the pimples with nails, which results in infection and septic. Pimples dry in a couple of days but the marks remain permanent. It is advisable to consult a doctor for acne because it is a kind of skin infection. It may result in pus pimples due to the presence of infectious bacteria embodied in the pimples.
Acne Scars
Even though acne scars is a common problem, but it causes much fear in the victims - so much advice is offered to them, as they really do not know what to do. Moreover acne scar can sometime go on for ages, producing both physical and psychological acne scars.

The sebaceous gland is the site of the problem - as mentioned earlier, these glands produce sebum which contains cholesterol, fatty acids and waxes. Several things can go wrong with this fairly simple process.

For example, if the production of sebum increases or if dead cells clog up the openings of the glands, the flow of the sebum gets disturbed. The pores of acne scars get blocked and blackheads and whiteheads form. Later, red, swollen and inflamed pimples develop as the sebum spills into the surrounding tissue. These pimples of acne scars might even get infected.

Acne Myths
Male hormones, the androgens, are thought to be responsible, atleast in part, for the overproduction of sebum and the consequent development of acne. In the past, diet had been held responsible for aggravating the problem. Hence for years, chocolates, spices and fatty foods were considered a taboo for acne patients. Recent studies, however, have scientifically exploded this acne myth. So, dietary restrictions are no longer necessary to combat the onslaught of acne scars.
Other factors which affect acne are menstruation, stressful conditions, hot humid climates and genetic factors. Cosmetic preparations containing lanolin and paraffin are known to exacerbate acne. Pimples may also occasionally occur as a side-effect of drugs taken of other illnesses.

Pus pimples can be burst with the help of a sterilized needle. The needle is sterilized on a flame and the pimple is pierced to its root. The pus is removed by pressing the sides. A clean cloth should be wrapped around fingers for pressing pimples. Pus should be cleaned with a clean cloth and the affected part should be dabbed with a thin solution of hydrogen peroxide.
